It was a beautiful rainy morning. The birds chirped, and the rains had made the earth quite moist. The moss was really green and it was the perfect weather for the frogs to hang out. So, a group of frogs were travelling through the beautiful, lush green woods, when two of them fell into a deep pit. As soon as this happened, all the frogs gathered around the pit and looked down carefully. When they realized that it was quite deep, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for any of them.

Listening to this, the frogs were really disheartened. They did not want to die there and wanted to go back at home to their family. They were quite tensed as to how to get out of the pit. However, the two frogs decided to ignore what the others were saying and they proceeded to try and then jump out of the dingy and deeply dirty pit. In spite of their desperate efforts, the group of the ignorant frogs at the top of the pit, still kept shouting that they should just give up and that they would never make it out.

Because of all the ill hooting, one of the stuck frogs paid heed to what the others said and he gave up. Thus, he sadly, fell down to his death. While the other frog continued to jump and tried again and again, as hard as he could. He even started bleeding in this process. The crowd of young frogs kept yelling at him to stop trying to avoid the pain and just die.

But he was not the one to deter from his goal. He jumped even harder and finally made it out after 2 long hours. When he got out of the pit, the frogs that stood outside the pit asked, “Didn’t you hear us? We kept shouting for your good? You would not be hurt so much if you stopped the attempt”

While they said all this, the frog blankly stared at them and explained them through gestures that he was deaf. So, one of them in turn explained to him that what they wanted to tell him. On understanding this a the frog blushed and told them “Oh! is that so?  By your gestures, I thought that you people were encouraging me the entire time.”

So, you see! It’s all about perceptions and our confidence on ourselves. It is very important that we judge the situations and after understanding, arrive at any decision and do not let others’ words affect us.

More often, we humans have a tendency to think what people would say and even hear people’s words and get demotivated. We need to understand that, in this society, very few people would encourage you with your endeavors or other actions, otherwise everybody else would be having problem with us. We should not affect ourselves with these kind of behavior’s and gestures. We must always try to find the positive aspect and feel encouraged.

Moral of the story: People’s words can have a big effect on our lives. But it’s up to you, that you want to take it positively and feel encouraged to accomplish your task or negatively to feel demotivated.
