Biography Of Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal is an Indian politician and a former civil servant who is currently serving as the Chief Minister of Delhi. He was born on August 16, 1968, in Siwani, Bhiwani district, Haryana, India. He completed his schooling in Haryana and went on to study mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

After completing his education, Kejriwal joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) as an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax in 1995. He worked in the Indian Revenue Service for several years before resigning from his position in 2006 to focus on social activism.

Kejriwal’s involvement in social activism began in 1999 when he joined the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement led by Anna Hazare. The movement was focused on advocating for the implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill, an anti-corruption legislation. In 2011, the movement gained national attention, and Kejriwal and Hazare organized a hunger strike in New Delhi to push for the implementation of the bill.

In 2012, Kejriwal founded the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a political party that aimed to fight against corruption and bring transparency and accountability in the Indian political system. The party contested the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections and made a stunning debut by winning 28 out of 70 seats. Kejriwal himself contested from the New Delhi constituency and won by a huge margin.

In February 2014, Kejriwal was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi, becoming the youngest person to hold the position. However, his tenure as the Chief Minister was short-lived, and he resigned after 49 days in office. The AAP contested the 2014 general elections but performed poorly, and Kejriwal lost his parliamentary seat.

Kejriwal returned as the Chief Minister of Delhi in February 2015 after the AAP won 67 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. During his second term as the Chief Minister, he implemented several innovative schemes and policies, including the odd-even road rationing scheme, mohalla clinics, and free bus rides for women.

In the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, the AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, and Kejriwal was once again sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Under his leadership, the AAP government has continued to focus on the welfare of the people of Delhi and has implemented several policies aimed at improving the quality of life for its residents.

Kejriwal is widely regarded as a charismatic and efficient administrator, who is committed to bringing about positive change in the lives of the people of Delhi. He has been praised for his innovative and effective governance style, which has resulted in several notable improvements in the fields of education, health, and transportation in Delhi.
